What to have ready when you call
Two minutes of detail on the phone often saves an hour on site and sometimes saves the trip entirely.
- Which fixtures are affected, and which one started first
- Whether anything gurgles when another fixture drains
- Whether the problem came on suddenly or built up over time
- Approximate age of the building
- Whether you know where the main cleanout is
- Whether any chemical drain cleaner has been used recently
- Whether water is currently standing or actively backing up
